Research interests

My research is focused on the pathophysiology of traumatic brain injury in women who have experience intimate partner violence. Specifically, I am looking at blood-based biomarkers of inflammation and neurological injury to characterize this injury. I am interested in inflammation and hypoxia and how this may be connected to neurocognitive functions or other outcomes. Other interests of mine are knowledge translation and mixed-methods research because I think it is important to contextualize "objective" findings within people's lived experiences and create solutions that are both feasible and appropriate for the population of interest.
